Hello everyone and welcome back to Chorical’s quarterly roadmap — our third quarterly entry of the year. We have major updates and things in store for you, so we’re going to keep this introduction brief and get straight into a quick update on things we talked about last time.
Major SELENA Package Edition Update
We are happy to report that we made our internal goal of having two-thirds of all outstanding orders shipped by the end of the second quarter. In fact, we now have shipped every order within the United States to customers, leaving a handful of international orders to be fulfilled. We are so relieved that customers are finally getting their hands on their packages and are filled with joy to see the positive reception and pictures on social media. We would like to thank you all for your patience throughout this process as the shipping procedures were delayed out of our control.
Looking forward, we will now be making newly placed orders as made-to-order items. This means shipping new orders will be significantly quicker, and we have the resources we need to refill stock as needed. We thank you all for your patience in this process and moving forward we will be making critical adjustments to our manufacturing pipeline to prevent these delays as much as we can.
SELENA MMD Model At Last
While we had initially planned to release the SELENA MMD model last quarter, created by Pilou la Baka, with a music video for tart’s “REVOLVER GIRL,” scheduling conflicts have prevented us from completing the animation work any time soon. Luckily, with the help of the talented AkiGlancy, AxelCode, and Aple — we were able to create an alternative solution. Premiering on Monday, July 14th, at 6 PM (CST), stop by our YouTube channel for the premiere of SELENA’s rendition of “Persephone” by AkiGlancy and MJQ-P. This premiere is an animated music video in MMD that will coincide with the model’s release. After the premiere, SELENA’s MMD model will be downloadable from her artist page with the newly reformatted resources tab. We hope all of you animators are excited to utilize the gorgeous model!
SELENA 2.3.0
After a long and intensive process, all of the data for SELENA’s 2.3.0 update was finished last quarter and is in the process of machine learning. For a quick recap, this update will provide extra data for the following Singing Expressions to enhance their effectiveness in the VoiSona editor: edge voice, exhale, falsetto, pitch flip-up, and rolled rs, alongside a new expression unique to SELENA’s voice library (it’s a secret!). While an additional two expressions titled “growl” and “whisper” were intended to be included, and were recorded, due to technical limitations with the VoiSona application they cannot currently be released in the upcoming update. Additionally, it is with a heavy heart that we must announce another delay for this update due to scheduling conflicts and data volume from a new feature. We deeply apologize for those who were looking forward to the new expressions and the release of SELENA 2.3.0, and are working hard with Techno-Speech to both resolve the issues and deliver the update as soon as possible. We thank you for your patience and support, but please know that this new feature will make the wait worth it.
Upcoming Summer Collab & Merch
We are happy to announce that we will be collaborating with a fellow vocal synth company this summer to release a fresh song, merchandise, and summer designs of SELENA, Ying Can, and the associated company’s character. Merchandise production for this is underway, with the song and video beginning production shortly. You can expect an August drop at the latest for this collaboration, so we hope you’re looking forward to the beach, sun, popsicles, and a cute assortment of goodies to display.
VoiSona Tutorial Series
While it is taking longer than expected, we are still working on our VoiSona tutorial series! As mentioned in our last roadmap, this tutorial series is going to be aimed at English users who may not know the ins and outs of the program. While its focus is on newcomers, we hope that current users will find good use of it as well! It will be a multi-part series hosted on the Chorical YouTube channel.
Social Media Overhaul
Chorical has had a long history, and unfortunately some of our social medias have been lacking since our commercial launch last year. That’s why this quarter we will be working on revamping all social media platforms to be consistent, including when we post new content. As a small team, it’s a bit hard for us to make sure everything is posted everywhere, but we will do our best moving forward, and you can expect to start seeing much more activity across numerous platforms in the coming months.
New Email for Collaboration Submissions
Since last year, we’ve received a few inquiries about potential collaborations within our support field. We would love to hear from aspiring musicians, artists, and singers who may want to work with us on future products, but the support inquiry form made that rather difficult to parse through. Therefore, we have created a new email for those who are interested in working with us to submit your proposals to: collab@chorical.com. Please note that not all inquiries may receive a reply, but you are free to send your submissions at any time! Our website will be updated to reflect this information on our contact page in the future.
Phew, now that really was a lot of information — perhaps even more than last time. We once again would like to thank everyone for their continued support and patience with us, and we are looking forward to this quarter and many to come. Oh, but before we go…there’s one more thing.

Have a good summer!
