Hello everyone, and welcome to the second quarter roadmap for Chorical’s 2025 activities! We’ve got plenty of hot news and updates to share. So, without further ado, let’s start with a recap of our art contest.

SELENA Winter Design Art Contest Wraps Up

During the first quarter, we held our very first art contest where passionate fans submitted their dazzling renditions of SELENA in her winter design. The turnout was absolutely wonderful, and we are deeply appreciative of everyone’s dedication and creativity — there was a hot inferno of talent on display. Because of the overwhelming talent, we added 4th and 5th place prizes to the competition, with each receiving a digital copy of SELENA’s voicebank. You can check out the winners for yourself here!

We plan to keep this creative fire alive with more contests in the future and hope to see even more incredible submissions next time!

SELENA MMD Model

Last quarter, the official MMD model for SELENA was completed and showcased on our social media. Thanks to the brilliant Pilou la Baka MMD from France, SELENA has come to life in 3D! While the model is complete, we’re still working on the MMD MV to make her debut truly magical. Although we hoped to accomplish this in the first quarter, we are now aiming for a Q2 release. The choreography for the song itself is finished—what remains is transforming that choreography into MMD animation and then refining it with MV editing. We’ll keep you updated as we continue to stoke the flames of progress, but for now, enjoy this stunning render of SELENA’s model!

SELENA Package Editions

In our last update, we mentioned that the prints for the SELENA package edition were finalized, and production was progressing smoothly. While the aftermath of Hurricane Helene has largely cleared, the print shop we are working with is still operating with a limited staff. During the final assembly process, we discovered a significant misprint with the manual pamphlet (which also doubles as a reversible art print), and unfortunately, we had to rekindle the process with a fresh order.

Although this issue was resolved swiftly, it has required our manufacturer to re-assemble the boxes, causing us to miss our original Q1 shipping target. We understand the frustration and anticipation surrounding the delays in shipment for SELENA’s package edition and are fervently working to get them into your hands. We are now targeting a Q2 shipment and have temporarily halted future merchandise plans until the package editions are shipped out. We deeply apologize for the delay and humbly ask for your continued patience and blazing support.

A Bubbly New Singer Approaches

As mentioned in our previous blog post, we shared a singing sample of our next VoiSona vocalist on Lunar New Year, sparking overwhelming enthusiasm. We’re thrilled to see everyone excited for her release. Earlier this week, we teased her main visual with a silhouette on our socials, but you can see it in full right now!

Introducing Ying Can (瑛璨), brought to life through the radiant talent of VOFAN. Her debut song, produced by Ex-P, our frequent collaborator, is sure to set the stage ablaze. Keep an eye on our social media pages and our blog for more details!

SELENA Dev Blog and Continued Development

As mentioned in our previous roadmap, we are crafting a comprehensive development blog to celebrate SELENA’s release and her upcoming 10-year milestone. However, due to the sheer volume of her history, the writing process has been more demanding than anticipated. To ensure this blog is as brilliant as it deserves to be, we have decided to delay its launch, aligning it with SELENA 2.3.0.

Speaking of which, SELENA 2.3.0 is progressing smoothly and remains on track for a Q2 release. The goal of this update is to enhance her performance and introduce three additional expression marks — two of which are the much-anticipated “GROWL” and “WHISPER” features promised on her shop page. The strength and dynamism of these new features rely on specially recorded singing data that couldn’t be included in the initial training due to volume and tight deadlines. Stay tuned for more sizzling updates and another new feature later this quarter.

VoiSona Tutorial Series

Since SELENA’s release, we’ve noticed a torrent of questions about how VoiSona functions, especially from newcomers drawn in by the bright spark of a native English vocal or longtime Oktavia fans just now venturing into vocal synthesis. While the VoiSona website hosts an English manual, some descriptions may be difficult to grasp. Therefore, we’re developing a video tutorial series for the VoiSona application, which will be hosted on our YouTube channel. We’re aiming to make the most comprehensive, red-hot guide we can to ensure a well-rounded understanding of the software.

Website Updates

Next week, we’ll be launching our site language feature, with Japanese available as the second language. Simplified and Traditional Chinese will be added soon, with French, Spanish, and Korean following in the future. We want everyone to be able to navigate our site with comfort, so we’re committed to expanding language support over time.
